The 2010 NFL Draft is Friday morning which means we still have time to add to the endless parade of online mock drafts with one of our own! To this end here are my own ideas for the first 10 picks in the 2010 NFL Draft. Be sure to bookmark this post so that you can come back to it on Friday and relentlessly mock my horrible predictions.
Mock Draft 2010 Top 10 picks according to Dominic:
Pick 1: St Louis Rams, Sam Bradford, Oklahoma.
St Louis has so many needs at the moment offensively and defensively it would not be too surprising for them to take a new Defensive Tackle in Nebraska’s Ndamukong Suh or Oklahoma’s Gerald McCoy. However Sam Bradford looks too good to miss.
Pick 2: Detroit Lions, Gerald McCoy, Oklahoma.
Last year Detroit took their QB of the future with Stafford and will look to their defensive line with Gerald McCoy. McCoy is powerful and quick off the line and will likely start and have an immediate effect for the Lions.
Ndamukong Suh: This is the 'before' picture. The 'after' one is too graphic for our readers delicate sensibilities.
Pick 3: Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Ndamukong Suh, Nebraska.
Tampa like the Lions acquired a QB in the previous draft and will move onto the defensive side of the ball. Happy coincidence the most dominating DT in college football and Heisman runner up falls to them here.
Pick 4: Washington Redskins, Russell Okung, Oklahoma State.
After a year plagued with OL issues almost every Redskin fan would be happy if they addressed this first. Russell Okung is the perfect pick to defend their new QB Donovan McNabb(!). Although they could trade down to acquire more picks.

Pick 5: Kansas City Chiefs, Eric Berry, Tennessee.
Kansas City could draft Trent Williams here but Eric Berry will provide them with some much needed pass defense. In almost every other mock draft I have seen Berry is here and I find it hard to disagree.
Pick 6: Seattle Seahawks, Bryan Baluga, Iowa
The Seahawks have OL problems just like all the teams before them. While Baluga is a great pick I wouldn’t be surprised if they go for a new QB in Clausen or a new RB in Spiller, they have many needs but also another 1st round pick so they do have some wiggle room.
Pick 7: Cleveland Browns, Jimmy Clausen, Notre Dame
The Browns need to look at their QB situation and Jimmy Clausen has gotten some good press recently after his pro-day. While the Browns have hinted that they are not really interested in him and have been burned picking a QB early before I believe they will go for it.
Pick 8: Oakland Raiders, Trent Williams, Oklahoma
The Raiders love athletic players and Trent Williams is a brilliant athlete who honestly could just as easily have gone earlier in the round. Expect Al Davis to snatch him up if he is available.
C.J. Spiller: His 40 yard dash time at the Combine was simply reported as 'Woosh'.
Pick 9: Buffalo Bills, C.J. Spiller, Clemson
The Bills could attempt to trade up to get Bradford or Clausen or even down so that they could later grab McCoy or Tebow but if they stay it would be hard to go past the playmaker C.J. Spiller. Spiller would give the Bill some excitement back to their running game and would work well in tandem with their established backs.
Pick 10: Jacksonville Jaguars, Earl Thomas, Texas
For a big part of the off season I believed that the Jags might trade down to get Tebow early in the second and some more defensive help, but I wouldn’t stake my meagre reputation on it. Earl Thomas is versatile and should plug a hole.
Teams that may attempt to trade up: Both the San Diego Chargers and New York Giants may want to reach for the premier RB talent in C.J. Spiller. The Philadelphia Eagles at last count have 11 picks this year and might be willing to part with a few of them if it means getting to a premier defensive player as well.
Pick that wouldn’t surprise me: Tim Tebow being picked in the first round by the Pats. There, I said it, I can’t unsay it.
Pick that forces me to embark on a murderous rampage: Redskins use their 4th pick to get a rookie QB instead of fixing the HUGE ISSUE at left tackle.
There you have it. The OL appears to be the most pressing need for most teams, which is fortunate as this draft is lousy with talented tackles, even later on. Also look at Oklahoma go with 3 picks in the top 10!
