…but first a quick update
Hey guys.
First up welcome to the new subscribers and our new fans on our facebook page…nearly up to 400!!
Hope you are enjoying the Gridiron Australia updates from Chris and are keeping up to date with all the NFL Free Agency moves…Donovan McNabb to Washington….really?
I will be writing an article at the end of Free Agency which details all the major Free Agency moves with my views on what your team did right and wrong so keep an eye out for that.
I will also be making a draft preview in the next week or two as we creep ever so closely to the NFL Draft. I hope it will be televised live again in Australia and will let you know all the details if it is or isn’t.
10 Ways To Cure Boredom During The NFL Off Season
So after hardcore following the NFL for the past few years I have gathered up quite an array of tips and tools to help me stay up to date and entertained during the NFL off season.
I have decided to share my favourite things and am interested to hear if anyone else has any cool shows or blogs they follow aswell.
So here they are…
1. Listen to the ESPN range of NFL Podcasts
ESPN Football Today
Jeremy Green, Matt Williamson and Pod Vader deliver the most in depth, quality and opinionated NFL news and info I have ever heard. I love this podcast and have been listening to it for 2 years now. JG and Matt (who both used to be NFL Scouts and worked with the Cleveland Browns) tell it how it is and often get “fired up” over some of the stupidity in the NFL making for a great listen. Subscribing is a must for any NFL fan.

ESPN Fantasy Focus
Equal parts comedy, equal parts Fantasy news and tips presented by Fantasy experts Matthew Berry and Nate Ravitz. Matthew and Nate are hilarious and love to clown around in one of the funniest and popular sports podcasts out there…sometimes they even talk about the NFL and Fantasy Football.

ESPN First Draft
Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay are NFL Draft gods. They have been in the NFL Draft business for a long time and love to talk anything and everything related to Draft news and mocks. They both talk at about 10000 million miles an hour but this is the single best way to find out anything and everything to do with the NFL draft.

2. Download and watch ‘The League’
This is hands down this is the funniest NFL related or non related TV show in the world….I love it more than Nachos! There is only one season so far but it is absolutely hilarious and you will love it….especially if you have ever been in any sort of Fantasy league with your mates before.
Here are some previews to wet your tastebuds
Download it and watch it on iTunes now!
3. Read the SB Nation, NFL Bleacher Report & NFL TouchDown Blogs
Check out these great blogs who post killer NFL articles and updates on a daily basis. These are blogs written for the fans by the fans so check them out and get a great in depth take on the NFL

4. Subscribe to the NFL Down Under YouTube Channel
I just started a new NFL Down Under YouTube Channel as you might have seen in our sidebar. Every week I will be scouring YouTube for interesting and funny NFL related videos which will automatically show up in our sidebar.

5. Hone & Sharpen your Madden Skills
There is never a better time to dig deep into Madden and learn more about the game then during the off season. Update your rosters via the net, simulate your favourite teams 2011 season, predict the future via the NFL draft and more.
Some of the best Madden tips, forums and products I use and recommend are:

6. Get Behind The Scenes Sneak Previews of Madden 11
The second Madden related way to cure boredom is to get behind the scenes as EA Sports develop the new Madden 11 game.
Every couple of weeks the hard working folks at EA preview a new feature or offer a gimplse into the upcoming version of one of the biggest and most popular sports video games ever.
By the time August 10 rolls around you will be frothing at the mouth!
