Aussies In The NFL Series: Chris Bryan


Former Collingwood and Carlton AFL player is the 8th Australian to make the transition to the NFL after scoring a 3 year deal with the in March 2010.

Bryan tried out before NFL scouts from several clubs in early March before being snapped up by the Packers, who have been searching for a consistent punter for several seasons.

Bryan becomes the fourth player to make the transition from AFL player to NFL punter, following in footsteps of , and .

The 28-year-old former AFL ruckman played 46 matches from 2005-09, 16 for Carlton and 30 for the Magpies before getting delisted by Collingwood at the end of 2009.

According to the Sunday Herald Sun, Superbowl champions the made discreet inquiries about Bryan before Christmas aswell as three other NFL clubs.
